Imagining new possibilities
First photo: Participants in the YMCA’s Camp Nalu summer program watch their volcano fountain bubbles Wednesday morning in Kihei during their annual Beach Activity Day. Kihei site administrator Carla Calvert said the kids brought no toys or things to play with because the day was about having fun using their imaginations and items they could find at the beach. Besides making sand volcanoes and castles, they also picked up litter, ran relay races and ate a picnic lunch.
Second photo: Brianna Beville, 8, (left) and Shylah Earnest, 9, compete in a relay race along the shoreline Wednesday. The program ends next week. Its been hot the last few days.
