Visitor is pulled from water, can’t be revived
A California man died while snorkeling off Black Rock in Kaanapali on Saturday morning.
Michael Taugher, 50, of Benicia, Calif., was found floating in the water and was unresponsive.
He was brought to the rocky shoreline of Black Rock at about 10 a.m., and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started. Lifeguards, firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene to treat Taugher but he could not be revived, according to police spokesman William Juan.
Taugher had been snorkeling with family members when they discovered him missing. An investigation indicated no foul play, Juan said.
