Halloween comes early at the Hyatt Regency

FIRST PHOTO: Guests to the 2013 Haunted House at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa get their Halloween kicks a day early Wednesday as the hotel’s Recreation Department staffers do their best to scare and/or entertain them. Proceeds from the three-day Haunted House, which closed Wednesday, will go toward the hotel industry Charity Walk. Kihei Elementary School 5th-grader Tyler Chaco, 10, and mom, Young Yi, get the “full scare” treatment in the dark haunted house. Tyler said it got his heart rate going to have masked ghouls jump out of the dark and scream. “It was scary,” he said. “It was like my legs were trembling.”
