Hamming it up for one of their own
First photo: Sophomore Samuel Wyner and fellow St. Anthony Junior Senior High School students cheer for alumnus Shane Victorino, Class of 1999, and his team, the Boston Red Sox, during their 3-1 win Monday over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 5 of the World Series.
Second Photo: Freshman Mindy Montalvo plays an ukulele while senior Lucas Broadbent strums a guitar as the entire room of St. Anthony students sings “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley for Victorino. Although Victorino did not play due to injury, students wore Red Sox shirts and donned fake beards, a trademark of this year’s team, while watching the game on a projector inside the school library during their last class period. The gathering was filmed and sent to Fox Sports affiliates and other television stations. For more on the pivotal Game 5 that now has the Red Sox a game away from winning the World Series, see Sports.
