Registered voters to receive forms

The Wikiwiki Voter Registration & Permanent Absentee application form soon will be mailed to registered voters in an effort to update the database of registered voters.

The Office of the County Clerk will be mailing the applications to registered voters, who are not already permanent absentee voters.

Voters are asked to complete, sign and return the voter registration portion of the application to the County Clerk’s office, a news release said. If voters would like the convenience of receiving their election ballot by mail, they need to complete and sign the permanent absentee portion of the application.

Those seeking “seasonal absentee” status, which requires voters to reapply every election year, need to contact the clerk’s office. This status may be useful for voters who are away at college or on vacation.

The County Clerk’s office reminds voters that it is important to update their information when there is a residence, mailing address or name change. The information is necessary to assign voters to their proper voting districts.

The primary election is Aug. 9 and the general election on Nov. 4, 2014.
