Lawmaking process topic of workshops in December
The state Public Access Room, a division of the Legislative Reference Bureau, will conduct a series of free workshops on Maui called “We the Powerful!” the first week of December.
The workshops will help people understand the state lawmaking process and demonstrate ways people can participate at the Legislature without having to leave Maui. Topics include an overview of the Legislature’s website, understanding the legislative process, delivering effective testimony and making sense of the calendar and deadlines.
The first hour of the workshop will discuss “How the Legislative Process Works” and the second hour will discuss “Digging Deeper,” which will be an interactive session.
The workshops will be at the following dates, times and locations:
* Dec. 3, noon, Hannibal Tavares Community Center meeting room by the pool, Pukalani; 5:30 p.m., Kihei Community Center.
* Dec. 5, noon, Kahului Community Center; 5:30 p.m., Wailuku Public Library.
