Funding for HHSC in budget request
In his executive supplemental budget request, Gov. Neil Abercrombie asked Monday for two appropriations totaling $42 million for the Hawaii Health Systems Corp., which runs Neighbor Island public hospitals, including Maui Memorial Medical Center.
His fiscal 2015 general fund requests includes $22 million for HHSC, and his fiscal 2015 general obligation bond requests include $20 million ($10 million in general funds) for improvements for HHSC, according to documents from the governor’s office.
Maui County-specific requests include $4.5 million for Molokai irrigation system improvements and $5 million for the Central Maui Regional Park. Both are general obligation bond requests.
