Fundraiser for Vietnam project April 25
A Wailea woman who scoured yearbooks, phonebooks, old newspapers and the Internet to find 42 photos of Maui’s fallen Vietnam veterans is close to reaching her fundraising goal of $42,000, or $1,000 for each service member.
Janna Hoehn of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is trying to raise $42,000 for a museum in Washington, D.C., where the photographs will be placed.
To help meet her goal, a fundraiser for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. April 25 at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu. There will be a dinner, music, entertainment and a silent auction. Comedian Frank De Lima will entertain.
Tickets are $40 per person. Tables of eight are $320.
The group is still seeking silent auction items.
