Maui Island Plan hearing set Wednesday
The Maui County Council will hold a public hearing Wednesday to gather testimony about a bill that would adopt the implementation program of the Maui Island Plan.
The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers on the eighth floor of the Kalana O Maui building located at 200 South High St. in Wailuku.
The Maui Island Plan implementation program will be used for county departments’ strategic planning and will chart a course for their goals and operations in delivering services and projects. The bill includes a capital improvement element, a financial element and an implementation schedule, according to a county notice.
Copies of the bill may be viewed online at mauicounty.gov/bill29 or in person during regular business hours at the Office of the County Clerk on the seventh floor of the Kalana O Maui building.
Each testifier shall be allotted three minutes to speak, with an additional minute to conclude.
The public may testify from remote sites in Hana and on Lanai and Molokai by contacting the Office of the County Clerk before the hearing.
Written testimony may be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the hearing by email to email@example.com or by fax to 270-7171. If written testimony is submitted at the hearing, at least 15 copies are requested.
