Meeting to discuss runway
The state Department of Transportation Airports Division will hold a public informational meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kaunoa Senior Center, 401 Alakapa Place in Spreckelsville, to discuss a runway resurfacing project at Kahului Airport.
The project includes 3 inches of pavement resurfacing over the entire 525,000-square-foot main runway, according to a department news release. The department plans to begin construction July 13, with work scheduled from 12:01 to 7 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
Residents are welcome to attend Friday’s meeting to learn about the resurfacing project and to raise questions and concerns.
