Maui Bus service to be affected by approach of storm system Iselle
Some Maui Bus service will be suspended today and Friday as a precaution with the approach of Hurricane Iselle or its remnants, officials announced.
All Maui Bus fixed routes will be suspended some time between 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, depending on the route. Maui Bus Commuter service will operate as normal today, but it will be shut down temporarily on Friday.
The Maui Bus Paratransit Service also will be suspended as of 6:30 p.m. today.
Until 5:30 p.m. today, paratransit service will be available for transportation from home to the nearest storm shelter. Call 877-7651.
Maui County, in conjunction with Maui Economic Opportunity and Roberts Hawaii, will provide free transportation to the shelters in Maui County from various designated pickup points. Transportation will be offered between 1 and 6 p.m. today.
All Maui Bus services will be suspended Friday morning, until an all-clear notice is issued for county roads. For more information, visit the Maui County website at www.mauicounty.gov.
