Walkers in Wailea mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month
FIRST PHOTO: Maui Spirit of Survival Walk Against Breast Cancer founder Brian Burns leads a group of walkers setting off on a 3-mile walk in Wailea Saturday morning at Polo Beach. Burns said more than 50 walkers participated in the second annual event held in conjunction of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “What a showing of support from the community,” Burns said. “The outpouring from local business and participants is truly awe-inspiring.” Burns said he has had two sisters die from breast cancer and another who is a survivor. “I’ve seen both sides of the disease.”
