Inspiring youth to choose a tourism career
The sixth LEI (Leadership, Exploration and Inspiration) program was held earlier this month at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. The Kaanapali program, part of a statewide event, was created to inspire Hawaii’s youth to select careers in the visitor industry. It was hosted by the nonprofit ClimbHI and the Hawai’i Tourism Authority. The Sheraton event on April 8 attracted about 240 students from seven Maui County high schools and 30 local businesses.
