Wailea resident charged with financial and identity crimes

Police have arrested a 33-year-old Australian national living in Wailea and charged him with theft, forgery and possessing confidential personal information.
Bail was set at $250,000 for Adam Nettleford.
This month, police began investigating Nettleford after detectives received information that he was using a false identity and was involved in financial and identity crimes, police said.
Police executed search warrants at Nettleford’s Wailea residence May 22. Police said Nettleford was served with an arrest warrant and charged with credit card theft, second-degree forgery and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
Additional search warrants were executed in the days following his arrest as detectives and special agents with the FBI Maui Office continued to investigate.
More charges are expected, police said.
Nettleford also goes by aliases, including Christian Lawson and William Atlan.
