Kahului family members Punono Crozier (from left, first photo), 6, Tilose Tupou, 12, Salesi Anitema, 12, Samuel Tupou, 5, and Nui Crozier, 11, kick off summer break Wednesday afternoon by playing in a freshwater pool and shooting water at one another at Kepaniwai Park. The children were among dozens of residents and tourists barbecuing, swimming and enjoying the Heritage Gardens at Kepaniwai. The park reopened in April following extensive flood damage from a Sept. 13 storm. A deluge of water tore away a piece of the park’s parking lot.
