2 in semifinals for scholarship program
Two Maui students — Laney R. Flanagan of Maui High School and Isabella Blair of Seabury Hall — have earned spots as semifinalists in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students are among 16,000 semifinalists nationwide in the 63rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They have the opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,500 national merit scholarships worth more than $32 million offered next spring.
Scholarships are underwritten by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. with its own funds, and by about 420 business organizations and higher education institutions that share its goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging academic excellence.
