Event to cover sales on Amazon network

An Amazon Liftoff event for businesses interested in selling with the online company will be held Sept. 26-29 in Wailea.

The free two-hour individual meetings by appointment are part of the event jointly put together by the Maui Chamber of Commerce and Fulfillment by Amazon, which selects, stores, packs, ships and provides customer service for products.

Amazon experts will provide support as businesses register for a selling account, list products and package inventory to send to Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers.

The program is aimed at Maui County manufacturers and retailers interested in selling on Amazon; the products do not have to meet made on Maui or in Hawaii requirements.

The liftoff is for businesses that:

• Have created a brand/product.

• Want their product delivered to customers with the Amazon Prime terms.

• Are flexible to set price and sales margins.

• Are interested in selling globally.

Amazon has more than 300 million customers worldwide, the chamber news release said.

There are 75 to 100 slots available. The meetings will be held at a Wailea resort, though the chamber did not want to disclose the site to prevent walk-ups.
