Meal program gets $40,000 grant

Hale Kau Kau has received a $40,000 grant from the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation to enhance St. Theresa Church’s program of providing daily meals to the hungry and homebound.

The grant is specifically for homebound meal deliveries to the elderly, sick and disabled in South Maui.

Hale Kau Kau’s mission is to alleviate hunger by providing nutritious meals to the homebound and hungry in a safe, loving and supportive environment.

South Maui residents founded the program in August 1991.
