Housing to be topic of party meeting
An executive assistant to County Council Member Elle Cochran will be appearing at the Democratic Party of Maui District 12 gathering Wednesday to discuss the council’s efforts to increase the inventory of affordable housing.
Autumn Ness, a lead researcher on the council Planning Committee’s temporary investigative group on affordable housing, will discuss the housing issue at the meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pukalani Pool Multipurpose Room. Her presentation will focus on the group’s key findings, including zoning changes for ohana units, smart growth, preapproval of building plans, tiny homes and multifamily housing.
The event is free and open to the public. The event is part of a monthly speaker series hosted by District 12 that takes place on the second Wednesday of each month.
