• Haleakala Ranch has announced the promotions of J. Scott Meidell and Jordan Jokiel. The promotions took effect Sept. 1.

Meidell has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president and will continue to have overall responsibility for the company’s real estate and land management activities on Maui, according to an announcement from Haleakala Ranch. Meidell, who joined the company in 2003, is also responsible for land planning and entitlements for the ranch’s noncore landholdings and oversight of all commercial leases on the ranch.

Jokiel has been promoted to vice president/land manager and will oversee the ranch’s land management operations, which include forestry, weed control and conservation/stewardship programs and partnerships. Jokiel, who has more than 25 years of experience in land and wildlife conservation, will also be working to continue to build on the ranch’s holistic approach to land management, according to the announcement.

• Ian Taylor has joined the Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui as director of operations, overseeing the resort’s front office, housekeeping, spa, food and beverage, safety and security and guest experience departments.
