Haleakala free to enter Veterans Day weekend

Haleakala National Park visitors will be able to enter the park free of charge over the Veterans Day weekend, according to an announcement.

The waiver of entrance fees on Saturday and Sunday is part of the National Park Service’s commemoration of veterans and Veterans Day. More than 28 percent of national park employees are veterans.

Sunrise reservations are still needed for visitors entering Haleakala National Park between 3 and 7 a.m. For information on reservations, visit www.recreation.gov.
