Harbor rules are subject of hearing

The state Department of Transportation Harbors Division will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. Jan. 10 at the State Office Building in Wailuku on proposed amendments to administrative rules.

The rule amendments include full dockage and port entry rate increases of 20, 15 and 15 percent over three years, and they propose increases for vessels longer than 900 feet. The department will announce its decision on the proposed amendments on Jan. 12.
