A record low temperature of 55 degrees was set for the date Monday at Kahului Airport, the National Weather Service said.

The temperature smashed the old record of 61 degrees set in 2008.

The low temperature tonight is expected to be warmer, ranging from 70 to 75 degrees, the weather service forecast said. The high temperatures should range between 82 and 87 degrees.

Today should be partly cloudy with scattered showers over windward and mountain areas and isolated showers over leeward areas. Trades are expected to blow 10 to 20 mph.

This weather pattern is forecast through Saturday.
