Kula association to elect officers
The Kula Community Association will elect officers and directors for 2018 during its meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kula Community Center as well as talk about public safety in the Upcountry area.
The meeting will begin with the election followed by presentations on medical emergencies, fire threats and capabilities/limits of the county in responding to major disasters, according to a news release.
The annual “Malama Kula” Award also will be presented to an individual or group. The award recognizes acts or contributions that reflect the association’s vision and purpose.
Speakers include Candy Lahm from AMR Ambulance; firefighter Troy Tendo; community health educator Sara Routley discussing rat lungworm disease; and Josh Black from the county’s Emergency Management Agency.
