Stores join Toys for Tots collection effort

Minit Stop and Azeka Shopping Center stores will partner with Street Bikers United Hawaii as toy collection points for the Toys for Tots Holiday Toy Drive.
Street Bikers United Hawaii has participated in the U.S. Marine Corps annual collection of toys and donations for Hawaii’s less fortunate children for the last 40 years. Last year, Street Bikers United Hawaii collected more than 45,000 toys and more than $36,000 in cash donations for Hawaii children, including those on Maui.
Members of the community can bring a new, unwrapped toy to any Minit Stop store and Azeka Shopping Center store. Donation bins will be up through Dec. 18.
Monetary donations may be made by purchasing donation tickets in denominations of $1 and $5 at Minit Stop checkout counters. Customers purchasing donation tickets will have their names posted in the store. The money will be used to purchase more toys.
Street Bikers United Hawaii is a nonprofit political, legal and social advocacy organization representing Hawaii’s motorcycle community.
“We appreciate the outpouring of support from our partners and from the community,” said Ron Panzo, president of the group. “We are grateful for the help in achieving our goal of making the holidays happy for all of Hawaii’s keiki.”
