Two snorkelers are identified
Police identified two snorkelers who died after being found in waters off Maui.
Sixty-year-old Lura Fredrick of Colorado was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. Nov. 3 after she was pulled from the ocean off Ulua Beach in Wailea at about 10:25 a.m., said Maui police spokesman Lt. Gregg Okamoto.
In another case at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, a snorkeler was found unresponsive and floating in the shallow waters behind the Sands of Kahana, Okamoto said.
The snorkeler, who was pronounced dead at 3:41 p.m., was identified as 66-year-old David Lee Williams of California.
The cause of both deaths remained unknown, Okamoto said.
