Students sell poinsettias

Roughly 2,000 poinsettias were prepared for sale Saturday during the University of Hawaii Maui College’s annual Christmas Plant and Pottery Sale at the campus greenhouse and ceramics studio. Horticulture students potted, planted, fertilized and controlled pests while raising the plants in their class. Students also helped package and sell the poinsettias for about $6 each to dozens of people who packed the greenhouse. Money raised in the sale will go to the college’s Agriculture Department.
