Biologist to speak at Wednesday meeting
Research biologist Arthur Medeiros will be the featured speaker at the nonprofit Maui Nui Marine Resource Council’s meeting Wednesday.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Pacific Whale Foundation’s classrooms at the Ma’alaea Harbor Shops. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Medeiros, a research biologist with U.S. Geological Survey who has more than 30 years of field experience studying Hawaiian ecosystems, will give a presentation on the Auwahi Forest Restoration Project.
Wednesday’s meeting will also include updates on Maui Nui Resource Council projects, including a study of coral DNA off Olowalu, ongoing ocean water quality testing and efforts to prevent sediment runoff.
