• Electric rate hike hearing. The state Public Utilities Commission will hold a public hearing on Molokai at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Mitchell Pauole Community Center on Maui Electric Co.’s proposed 9.3 percent increase to its base power rates. • Marijuana conference. Pono Life Sciences is the Honolulu-based sister company to licensed medical marijuana dispensary Pono Life Sciences Maui (doing business as Pono Life Maui). Mark Rowland, the director of cultivation who was quoted in a story published Monday on Page A1 and continued on Page A2, is from Pono Life Maui.
