Maui, Molokai under high-surf advisory
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high-surf advisory for north-facing shores of Maui and Molokai through 6 a.m. Wednesday.
A west-northwest swell is expected to build through this morning, delivering advisory-level surf to the north-facing shores of Maui and Molokai by this afternoon, according to the weather service. The swell is expected to hold through tonight and gradually subside Wednesday and Thursday.
Surf of 10 to 15 is forecast, along with strong breaking waves, shore break and currents making swimming difficult, according to the weather service.
