Sierra Club Maui to recognize honorees
Sierra Club Maui will hold its annual meeting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Paia Community Center.
The agenda includes highlights from the Maui group’s work this past year, updates on its 2018 state legislative priorities and campaigns and recognition of the group’s 2018 Community Award Honorees, starting at 11:45 a.m.
The 2018 Community Award honorees are Tom Reed, Roxanna Smith, Robin Knox, Kelly King, Scott Fisher and the Wailea 670 Trail Crew.
There also will be a presentation on the future impacts of sea-level rise. Matthew Gonser of the Honolulu Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency and Tara Owens of UH Sea Grant will be discussing the issue.
Lunch is being provided by Mana Foods and Flatbread Co. Attendees may bring a pupu to add to the potluck. This is a waste-free event with people asked to bring personal utensils, plate and cup.
