The Maui News – Henry Kapono is headlining a three-concert “Artist 2 Artist” series with guest performers Keola Beamer, Jerry Santos and Malani Bilyeu, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center has announced.

Kapono will appear with a special guest each night, and the performances will feature “talk story” about the artists’ careers and a jam session.

The first show kicks off March 30 with Beamer as the special guest. The next concert is April 19 with Santos of Olomana, and the series concludes on May 25 with Bilyeu of Kalapana.

All shows are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets went on sale to MACC members this week, and they’ll be available to the general public beginning Tuesday.

Kapono — one half of the Cecilio & Kapono duo in the 1970s and ’80s — is a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and composer with multiple awards, including a Grammy nomination and numerous Na Hoku Hanohano awards. Those include male vocalist of the year, song of the year, single of the year and album and rock album of the year.

Ticket prices range from $35 to $65, plus fees. Tickets to all three concerts are available for a series discount — 20 percent for MACC members and 10 percent for members of the general public.

To buy tickets, visit the MACC box office from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, call 242-SHOW or go to MauiArts.org.
