Dave Underriner

• Dave Underriner has been named as the new president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals of Hawaii.

He comes to Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii after a 35-year career at Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, health plans, physicians, clinics and affiliated health services where he held multiple leadership positions in the organization’s Oregon region. Most recently, he was executive vice president and chief executive officer.

He was responsible for strategy and operations for Providence’s Oregon region. That region includes eight acute-care hospitals, 90 medical clinics and more than 3,650 staff members. He worked closely with Providence’s health plan operations in Oregon.

• Hawaiian Airlines has appointed Beau Tatsumura as vice president for maintenance and engineering.

He will lead Hawaiian’s operations involving the performance, quality and reliability of its 54-aircraft fleet.

“Beau’s leadership and extensive experience will allow us to remain at the forefront of aircraft safety and operational performance as we continue to grow our fleet and network,” said Jim Landers, senior vice president for technical operations at Hawaiian Airlines.

Tatsumura joined the airline in 2014. Most recently, he has served as managing director of maintenance operations, overseeing aircraft quality and performance.

Hawaiian operates a wide-body fleet of 24 Airbus A330s and eight Boeing 767s and a narrow-bodied fleet of 20 Boeing 717s and two Airbus A321neos. By 2020, Hawaiian plans to have 18 A321neos. And, in 2021, the airline anticipates taking delivery of its first Boeing 787-9.

Before joining Hawaiian, Tatsumura was senior director of maintenance and engineering at Aeko Kula Inc. There, he oversaw day-to-day operations and overall safety for Aloha Air Cargo. He also served as general manager of Aloha Tech Ops, which is Aeko Kula’s third-party contractor for aircraft maintenance.

Tatsumura began his career at Aloha Airlines, holding numerous aircraft maintenance and leadership positions for 18 years. He served in the 100th Battalion 442D Infantry Regiment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Edgar Krampitz

He was born in Honolulu and grew up in Kaneohe. He earned a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics with a minor in safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

• Edgar Krampitz has joined the Queen Ka’humanu Center as its operations manager, effective April 23.

In his new position, he works with center management, staff, tenants and contractors to deliver exceptional shopping, dining and entertainment experiences for patrons.

Krampitz is a military veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force as an airfield maintenance supervisor in the civil engineering squadron in various overseas locations, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar and Japan.

He continued managing multimillion-dollar airfield construction projects around the world as a U.S. Department of Defense contractor. His military service included a recruiting position with the Air National Guard.

As a civilian, Krampitz worked as a real estate agent and property manager, overseeing the maintenance of residential and commercial properties while obtaining his bachelor’s degree in business management. He’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.
