Bat attack attempt results in arrest
Bail was set at $12,000 for a Molokai man who was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly swung a bat at another man.
Gery Graham, 67, of Kaunakakai was charged with attempted second-degree assault, two firearms offenses and fourth-degree criminal property damage.
According to a declaration filed in court to support the charges, Graham swung the baseball bat at his nephew while he and Graham’s sister were in a bedroom of the family residence.
Then, Graham was heard chambering a round into a bolt-action rifle outside the window of the bedroom where the two were, according to the declaration. Police reported finding a loaded Remington .22-rifle, baseball bat and bullets in a search of Graham’s bedroom.
