State tax workshop set for July 26 at Maui Beach Hotel

The state Department of Taxation’s 2018 tax workshop for Maui will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 26 at the Maui Beach Hotel.
The workshop allows tax professionals to learn more about the department and provides certified public accountants an opportunity to earn three Hawaii Board of Public Accountancy Continuing Professional Education credits.
This year’s workshop topics include an update on administrative rules, tax changes that occurred during the last legislative session, and a special presentation on “Conformity 2018: Hawaii’s Response to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and Other Federal Law Changes.”
There also will be a presentation by the Internal Revenue Service’s Local Taxpayer Advocate on their services.
The fee for the workshop is $90 for those who submit their registration and payment by the deadline on July 18. Late registrations are $110 per person and walk-ins will be accepted at the door on a space-available basis.
The fee includes a continental breakfast and workshop materials. Workshop materials may be separately purchased for $25 per set. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
