Firefighters target hot spots

Firefighters were continuing to mop up hot spots Monday in a 10-acre brush fire in the Kula Agricultural Park, a fire official said.

The fire was reported at 2:15 p.m. Sunday.

Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro said the fire hadn’t grown Monday and fire crews were working to secure the fire perimeter before declaring it contained.

The only property damage reported was to agricultural fencing, Yatsushiro said. He said the cause of the fire was undetermined.
