Humane Society open Sundays

The Maui Humane Society animal shelter in Puunene will be opening seven days a week, adding Sundays beginning this Sunday.

The shelter now will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

With the new Sunday operations, the Humane Society will be reinstating its Super Senior Sundays program, allowing adopters to name their price for the adoption of senior pets, ages 7 and older.

“Maui Humane Society is excited to offer our services to the community seven days a week,” said Jerleen Bryant, CEO of the Humane Society. “Serving the island’s needs is very important to us, and the new schedule provides more opportunity for adoptions, lost and found services, and helping animals find loving homes.”

The shelter, located off Maui Veterans Highway (formerly Mokulele Highway), will be closed only five days a year to observe major holidays.
