Maui festival receives national award

The National Association of Counties has recognized the Made in Maui County Festival with an achievement award, honoring innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen resident services.
The event was honored in the category of Community and Economic Development.
The festival was developed by the county Office of Economic Development and Maui Chamber of Commerce in an effort to develop the county’s manufacturing industry.
The annual event is held on the first Friday and Saturday of November at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. It showcases locally made products and businesses headquartered in the county.
