Haleakala movie to premiere Thursday
12-minute film will be used to educate visitors
The Maui News – The new short film “Haleakala: A Rare and Sacred Landscape” will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday at the McCoy Studio Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
The free film is being hosted by the National Park Service and The Fund for People in Parks. The 12- minute film is by nature filmmaker Steven M. Bumgardner and will be used to educate visitors about the park. It will be introduced by the executive director of the Fund for People in the Parks, Bob Hansen.
The evening will begin with performances by Grammy Award winner George Kahumoku Jr., Halau Hula Wehena O Ke Ao and Fawn and CJ Helekahi.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
