Molokai water users asked to conserve
Maui County water customers in Kaunakakai are asked to conserve water while the Kualapuu Well is out of service, the Department of Water Supply said on Saturday.
The pump motor went down early Saturday and repair is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
The Kualapuu Well is the primary source of water for Kaunakakai, but the state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is providing water to the county system, in addition to the department’s own customers, a news release said.
Maui County customers can reduce water use by turning off irrigation systems, hold off on washing cars and by reducing or postponing other nonessential water uses.
