Manning the steam engine Anaka, Brian Davies brings the Sugar Cane Train’s Holiday Express to a stop at Kaanapali Station on Tuesday evening. The Holiday Express is scheduled to run through Dec. 31 with two round trips nightly from Pu’ukoli’i Station at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online from sugarcanetrain.com or by calling 667-6851. Davies said the Anaka was “running great” and that it felt great to operate her. “Anytime I’m on a steam engine is a nice day,” the engineer said. The Anaka was built in Pittsburgh in 1943.
