Araki-Regan pegged to join state DOT
Former Mayor Alan Arakawa’s chief of staff has been named first deputy of the state Department of Transportation.
Gov. David Ige announced the appointment of Lynn Araki-Regan on Monday, which is subject to confirmation by the state Senate.
Araki-Regan also has served as budget director and economic development coordinator for the county. She is an attorney with 22 years in litigation, commercial transactions, creditor’s rights and landlord/tenant law.
She has a law degree from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She is a Baldwin High graduate.
It was announced earlier that her husband, Keith Regan, who served as managing director in the Arakawa administration, had joined the Hawaii Tourism Authority as chief administrative officer.
