Maui Electric Co. will be using a helicopter to perform routine power line inspections on Maui and Molokai next week, MECO announced.

Inspections will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday on Maui and Thursday on Molokai. The dates and locations are subject to change depending on the weather.

MECO said that the routine aerial inspections of its equipment, including electrical lines, poles and substations, are necessary to maintain stable and reliable electrical service for the community.
