Hannemann to address Kiwanis

Hawaii Independent Party gubernatorial candidate Muliufi “Mufi” Hannemann will “share his vision and direction for Hawaii” during today’s noon meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Maui at Cary & Eddie’s Hideaway restaurant in Kahului, according to an announcement.

The former Honolulu mayor ran unsuccessfully as a Democrat for governor in 2010, finishing second in the primary race with 90,590 votes, or 37.7 percent, to then Congressman Neil Abercrombie’s 142,304, or 59.3 percent. Three other candidates took the balance of the primary votes. Hannemann served as Honolulu mayor from 2005 to 2010.
