Jewish Congregation of Maui announces service times; Yom Kippur begins today

The Jewish Congregation of Maui has announced its schedule of services.

The schedule follows:

* Today, 2 p.m., Michah that precedes Yom Kippur; 6 p.m., eve of Yom Kippur service; 6:30 p.m., Kol Nidre service.

* Saturday, 8:30 a.m., Yom Kippur morning service; 4 p.m., Mincha service; 5 p.m., Yizkor; 6:15 p.m., Neila service; 7 p.m., Havdalah service. (A breakfast meal will be provided.)

* Sunday, 9:30 a.m., community Sukkah building and decorating party.

* Wednesday, 6 p.m., Sukkot evening service.

* Thursday, 10 a.m., Sukkot morning service with Hallel and Hashonot.

* Sept. 20, 10 a.m., Second Day Sukkot morning service with Hakafot; 6:00 p.m. Shabbat evening service.

* Sept. 21, 10 a.m., Shabbat morning service.

* Sept. 25, 6 p.m., Eve of Shemini Atzeret service.

* Sept. 26, 10 a.m., Shemini Atzeret morning service, including Geshem, the prayer for rain, reading of Kohelet/Ecclesiastes and Yizkor service; 6:30 p.m., Simchat Torah evening service.

* Sept. 27, 10 a.m., Simchat Torah morning service with dancing (everyone will be called to the Torah, including children); 6 p.m., Shabbat evening service.

* Sept. 28, 10 a.m., Shabbat morning service.
