Sign-up open for conference
Cornerstone Women’s Ministries is hosting a women’s conference in February called “Hawaii ‘Pearls of Grace’ Mission Trip” from Feb. 15 to 18 at Faith in Jesus Church in Wailuku.
The conference will run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 16; from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 17; and from 4 p.m. until closing on Feb. 18. All sessions include a meal.
There is no cost but an offering will be taken during each session. All women are invited. To sign up, call 244-1286.
Bible study at Grace Church
Grace Church Maui in Pukalani is offering an adult comparative religion Bible study class at 9 a.m. Sundays in the courtyard at Kamehameha Elementary School campus through Feb. 11. The class on Sunday will be about Islam and copies of the Koran are available for $11 each. Call the church office at 572-8384 to reserve a book for pickup at Sunday’s class.
Pastor Rob Finberg and Nora Finberg will lead the class. All are welcome to join the church’s regular worship service at 10 a.m. following the Bible study.
Tondo Matsuri at Jinsha Mission
The Tondo Matsuri will take place at 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at Maui Jinsha Mission in Wailuku. The Rev. Akihiro Okada of the Daijingu Temple of Hawaii will perform the service. Attendees are asked to bring old oharaisama and omamori to dispose of.
New Year’s mochi and lunch will be served. The mission is located at 472 Lipo Place.
Coptic Orthodox bishop will visit
The Maui Coptic Orthodox community announces that His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Serapion will be visiting Maui for the second time to lead the Holy Liturgy at Trinity Episcopal Church by-the-Sea in Kihei from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
All are welcome to receive this Holy Father’s blessing.
Coffee and snacks will be served after the liturgy while attendees gather with His Eminence to hear stories about his world travels.
