Hope Chapel Maui in Kihei to start Saturday service

Hope Chapel Maui is starting a new Saturday service, beginning at 6 p.m. this Saturday. Arrive early for a low-cost taco dinner in The Living Room before the service.

This new Saturday service will include the same worship and teaching as the church’s Sunday services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Hope Chapel Maui is located at 300 E. Welakahao Road in Kihei.

Minister to teach Buddhism basics at Makawao Hongwanji

The Rev. William Masuda, resident minister of Makawao Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, will conduct an interactive talk and discussion about Shin Buddhism during the 9 a.m. service at the temple on Sunday.

The presentation is meant to serve as a refresher of the basic teachings and understanding of Shin Buddhism.

During the discussion, children will be participating in their own dharma lessons in the Temple Social Hall. The temple is located at 1074 Makawao Ave.
