Bishop Fitzpatrick will visit Trinity
The Rt. Rev. Robert L. Fitzpatrick, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, will preside over confirmation and celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church By-the-Sea, located at 100 Kulanihakoi St. in Kihei. Candidates from Maui’s Episcopal churches will gather together in Kihei for the bishop’s visit.

Congregation plans service, celebration
The Jewish Congregation of Maui will observe Yom Hazikaron, Israeli Veterans Memorial Day, during a short memorial service at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at 634 Alulike St. in Kihei. The service will include the release of 70 doves and a shofar blast.
A Yom Ha’atzma’ut celebration/Israeli independence day social gathering will directly follow the service with modern Israeli music. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the return of Jews to their homeland after centuries of exile.

Coptic Orthodox bishops will visit
The Maui Coptic Orthodox community announces that His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion is coming to Maui again this year, along with two other visiting bishops from the Mainland to celebrate the liturgy from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 2140 Main St. in Wailuku.
All are welcome to receive their blessings and sermons. Coffee and light breakfast will be served afterward in the tower room at the church. For inquiries, call Samir Malek at (808) 495-6147.
Faith in Jesus men going fishing
The men of Faith in Jesus Church are going on an overnight fishing outing April 20-21 at Papalaua State Wayside Park, located on the Lahaina side of the pali. The men will set up camp at 5 p.m. April 20. The excursion will end at 11 a.m. April 21.
The cost is $10 for adults and $6 for students. Payment should be dropped off by Monday at Faith in Jesus Church in Wailuku. Campers are advised to bring fishing and camping gear, as well as food and water. There will be prizes for largest ulua, papio and largest other types of fish.
