Tondo Matsuri church service planned in Wailuku

Maui Jinsha Mission in Wailuku will have a Tondo Matsuri church service at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Akihiro Okada of the Daijingu Temple of Hawaii will be performing the service. Attendees are asked to bring their old oharaisama (ofuda) to dispose of.

Mochi and lunch will be served.

The mission is located at 472 Lipo Place.

Giveaways set King’s Cathedral on Sunday

Everything is free at the King’s Cathedral Aloha Fest on Sunday, according to an announcement. There will be a free dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. and thousands of dollars’ worth of giveaways starting at 6 p.m. at the 777 Maui Veterans Highway location in Kahului. The church and Maui Food Bank will also be providing bags of food for people in need.

A Cup of Cold Water will meet on Feb. 9

A Cup of Cold Water will hold its annual meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 9 at Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church in Kihei. Retiring board members and new board members will be honored. The 2019 budget and future volunteer needs will be discussed.
