Darrell Kapeau Aea Sr., 60
Darrell Kapeau Aea Sr., 60, of Kaunakakai, Moloka’i passed away on September 30, 2014, at the Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born on Kaunakakai, Molokai on February 27, 1954 to Eleanor and George Aea Sr., in which after a brief move to Maui, moved back to Moloka’i where he chose to raise his family.
Darrell dedicated over 30 years of service working for the State Department of Transportation. He lived life with the true value of hard work and dedication to his job, friends, and family.
Darrell was a simple man with a few words, but, a man with wisdom beyond his years. He had a loving heart, a firm hand, and a giving soul to all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother Eleanor Aea, children Darrell Aea Jr. (Shalia), Fawn Choda-Kowalski (Wade Sr.), Keola Aea (Hoku), Daisha-Ann Kamalo (Joshua), Bronson Aea (Pi’ilani), Nikkie Aea (Tino), Dallas Seguritan-Aea, and Kayla Aea, his siblings Darcy Aea Sr, Brenda Aea, Annie Aea, George Aea Jr., and Sumiko Aea, his fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Casey Aea and father George Aea Sr.
Services will be held at Kalaiakumanu Hou Hall, on October 18, 2014 on Moloka’i. Public viewing to start at 8am, with service at 11am, and burial to follow at Kapa’akea Cemetery.
